DIAMANTE WATERFALL

DIAMANTE WATERFALLS
The Diamante Waterfall is located in the village of Las Tumbas near Tinamaste. Although this area is just 35 minutes from the beach town of Dominical, the landscape differs widely, with lush, rolling mountains that are sometimes enshrouded in clouds.
The Diamante River flows straight through the heart of this valley. Several kilometers below Diamante’s natural water source, midway down 1200 feet of cascading waterfalls, you will find the Cave or, as the locals call it, “La Casa de Piedra” (The House of Stone). This open-air cavern is set behind twin waterfalls and features a fully functional kitchen and comfortable sleeping area.
The Diamante Waterfall is one of the most amazing sights in Costa Rica. Not only are the waterfalls themselves spectacular, but the cave is unforgettable.
NAUYACA WATERFALLS

NAUYACA WATERFALLS
Costa Rica has plenty of stunning waterfalls but probably the most spectacular are the Nauyaca falls located in the mountains of the southern zone. With two sets of falls measuring a combined 61 meters (200 feet) tall and a large natural pool for swimming, the Nauyaca waterfalls are indeed a sight to see.
The Nauyaca sits in a wide canyon that is covered in lush greenery, made even greener from the constant mist of the cascading water.
Upper falls
The upper fall is an 80 meters (262 ft) drop. Depending on the season there is a small swimming pool.
Lower falls
This is where most people spend their time, the lower falls. There is a lovely deep pool you can swim and bathe in and plenty of rocks to sit on. You get a stunning view of both waterfalls surrounded by lush green jungle and the sounds of nature.
This second fall is a tiered waterfall of 26 meters (85 ft) and the pool is 7 meters (22 ft) deep.
DOMINICAL BEACH

DOMINICAL BEACH
Dominical is a small, chill beach town with a complete lack of a commercial feeling. You will see many tourists, backpackers and surfers walking or riding their bikes around, families playing at the beach and dogs roaming around.
Playa Dominical is known for consistent waves, great for experienced surfers. It’s a long beach stretching 4 km (2.5 miles) with a rocky shore and dark water.
Since this area is a proper tropical rainforest, everything stays green and lush all year round thanks to the high humidity. Sunsets here are as beautiful as any beach on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica!
Dominical tends to have a more hippie atmosphere than other beach towns in Costa Rica and you can notice it right away when you visit. The entire parking area is lined with hammocks and camper vans with people who seem to have been there for a while. It has a super chill vibe, everyone is just relaxed and having a great time.
The town is tiny but there are restaurants, nice stores, mini markets, tourist market and bars.
PLAYA LINDA

PLAYA LINDA
Playa Linda is a long, dark sand beach that has bright blue waters and lots of palm trees. One of the first things that’ll come to your mind when you arrive at the beach is just how vast it is. If you look both directions, all you see is the coastline and nothing more!
This is a surfing beach so you can play and have fun in the waves close to shore.
Playa Linda and Playa Matapalo actually run into each other, forming one extremely long beach with palm trees as far as the eye can see. It feels like the sand goes on forever!
The beach is perfect for running, walking or just relaxing. The waves are fun to play in and are good for surfing at times.
Playa Linda is best as a day trip as there isn’t anything around there in terms of hotels and businesses.
CHIRRIPO NATIONAL PARK

CHIRRIPO NATIONAL PARK
This is one of Costa Rica’s most wild national parks.
The number one attraction in Chirripó national park is climbing Cerro Chirripó Grande, the highest peak in Costa Rica. The views are spectacular, on a clear day you can see the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean sea simultaneously.
The satisfaction of reaching the highest point of the country is the main but not the only reason that attracts visitors to this place.
Stunning views, exotic bird watching and a tour across moorland and glacial lakes are part of the experience you can love in this park.
In Chirripó, each site is unique, with forests and their great diversity of species. There is also the cloud forest, full of air plants covering the branches of trees.
One of the main attractions of the park is bird watching, along the way you can find many species.
UVITA

PLAYA UVITA
Playa Uvita, also called Punta Uvita, is the beach you will reach using the main entrance of Marino Ballena National Park. This is the primary access to the famous Whale's Tail Beach (visible at low tide only!).
Bordered by coconut trees and almond trees, this is an authentic wild beach of the South Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. Monkeys and scarlet macaws are frequent noisy visitors, and it is never too crowded with people!
UVITA WATERFALL
Considered one of the main attractions of Uvita, this waterfall is in an ideal location close to the town center.
There’s also another big swimming hole where you can swim and jump all year round. Right in the middle of the rainforest but still close to everything, this is a must-do in Uvita if you don’t plan on visiting other bigger waterfalls in the area.
UVITA WILDLIFE
Wildlife is everywhere in Costa Rica, and it’s especially abundant in Uvita!
However, if you want to have a closer look at some animals and do some good while you’re at it, do not miss the Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary during your stay on the Costa Ballena.
Alturas Wildlife Sanctuary is a rescue center for injured animals. Trained caretakers support the animals during their recovery period, and the sanctuary always tries to release the animals to the wild once they are healed and have a chance to survive on their own. During the tour, you will learn many interesting facts about the animal species, their personal stories, and the sanctuary’s conservation needs. You can expect to see spider monkeys, capuchin monkeys, sloths, parrots, toucans, raptors, anteaters, raccoons, and kinkajous
PLAYA HERMOSA

PLAYA HERMOSA
Located just 5 minutes from Uvita you’ll be pleased to discover this stunning beach. Since it lies just outside the National Park, access is entirely free!
This 3-mile long sandy beach remains completely untouched: there are no buildings around and very few people (except during the holiday season and over the weekend during the dry season). Enjoy a stroll along the seashore to soak up the wilderness and maybe spot some scarlet macaws in the almond trees!
This beach is perfect for surfing at mid-tide to high tide as well as jogging or just relaxing at low tide. There are sometimes a few local stands by the entrance (depending on the season) selling coconut water (“pipa”), snacks, and clothing, and renting surfboards.
